Hello,I'm new here tonight, not quite sure of the protocol so I'm sorry if I'm butting in on something, before I read everything about illegal bank charges, fortunately I'm self employed and I have all my LloydsTSB bank statements for the last 7 years but I'm not certain what charges I can claim for..I do have a lot of charges where I've exceeded my overdraft limit....are these included,Any advice much appreciated as I can then total it myself,Thank you.

Hi, Saddleburner, yes, you're at the wrong place, and less likely to get attention on this "general" thread, so I'll move your post to the "Welcome Forum" for now. ;-)

Business accounts can be difficult to work out since there can be lots of different wordings for the charges.

One example is the commission charges taken by Barclays account managers.....now we know that commission is normally used as a reward or certainly by performance that's positive.I certainly questioned mine since if by taking commission it takes the account overdrawn only to add lots of charges then that can hardly be seen as good management by your business banking manager ??

Generally you should claim the unauthorised overdraft charges, charges for; unpaid cheques, unpaid direct debits and standing orders.

Barclays also have an account maintenance charge,if it can be seen that these charges reflect work that is actually being done that justify it then you cannot really claim it.

The claimable charges are usually easy to spot.

I would suggest doing a search for a settled claim and have a look at the thread,or even a current one.
