Letter I sent to the court requesting an adjournment for 1 month (as suggested by Karne - thank you):-

"Small Claims Court

King’s Lynn County Court

Chequer House

12 King Street

KING’S LYNN

Norfolk PE30 1ES

3rd January 2007

Dear Sir/Madam

Claim no.: 6QZ71927 – Preliminary Hearing 4th January 2007

I have received written notification from Abbey National plc that it has decided to settle this claim in full and has deposited in my bank a cheque in the amount of £1147.13, being the sum claimed, plus £17.74 additional interest to 30th December 2006, together with £130 court costs.

I would like to request an adjournment to the above claim for one month to allow payment of said cheque to clear.

I would like to thank the court for its indulgence in this matter and would state that, should there be no correspondence from me concerning the clearance of the above cheque, this matter may be considered to be closed after one month.

Yours sincerely

"

Hopefully this will be the end of this 1st claim!
