I have received a letter from Lloyds today telling me they are prepared to reduce the charges by repaying me £750. I do not want to accept the offer as I am trying to reclaim £1300. The problem is that I still have an account with Lloyds and they say they are going to credit the money to my account at some point within the next few days.

What do I do? What are my options? Anyone know? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just write to them and say that you do not accept the offer and that you will only accept full repayment of your claim. If they credit your account then you can either accept it as part settlement or tell them to debit it back from the account.

Thanks. So if I spend the money it does not mean that I am accepting thier offer.

Ethically you need to write to them first and tell them that you have accepted the sum in partial settlement only but in reality it shouldn't make any difference.

Just need to check that this is right because I have filled in my court allocation questionairre and I am awaiting a hearing date. If I accept the payment, which has now been paid into my account, would I need change my claim at all?

Can anyone help, I need to know if there is anything taht I need to do.

Thanks,

tom

Send a letter to the court advising them of the situation but there's no need to file a formal claim modification.

If it were to get to court and you won then any partial payment would be taken into consideration at that time.

Other than that don't worry.
