Hello - sorry for being a pain in the backside but now A+L have closed my account because apparently I can't use it properly, I wanted to take it to the next (and final!!!) stage of this.

 

I know I read when I was last here months ago about doing something in retaliation to this, and I've had a bit of a poke about and can't find anything. Maybe this is something we can't do any more, I don't know, but so far I've not found anything. Oops - just realised I haven't used the search function yet, but if anyone could advise or point me in the right direction I'd be really appreciative.

 

If I find anything via the search I'll put it here to save the next person asking!

... the most helpful one I've found so far is in forum "A Word from the Banks", and a thread called, "Account Closures". Sorry I don't know how to link.

 

From looking at this it's basically saying that they are allowed to do this and they do it just as a tantrum in response to you taking "their" money...? My account was closed back in September (I've just started uni so it's taken me a while to get around to this), so obviously the example letter(s) in that thread are not useful to me but may be to someone else....

 

Basically, please could someone just confirm that I understand correctly and I've come to the end of the road now (okay, I know, I got my money back, I should be happy with that, but hey, they closed my account, I want to hit back if I can!)?

Hi Clairus99.

 

If they were still at the threatening stage, then it might have been possible to change their mind by quoting the banking practice reccomendations.

 

Now it's closed....No chance.

 

Open another account and move on.
