 Hello all, Sorry to start a new tread. But i am not sure what to do next.

I sent the Halifax an estimated LBA (based on the advise from the BBC's site) The estimate was based on 10 months statements totalling £1235 in charges with an overall estimate of £7409 over 6 years. With the standard 14 days before action. After i sent the letter, i found (from my archives) statements dating back to March 05 and the total charges for the period of March 05 to present is £4033 inc. interest. I received a letter of acknowledgement today from the Halifax. My question is do I wait the 40 days for my 6 years of statements (Data Protection Act sent after visiting your web site) or do i follow up on the original estimated letter?

Hi have you sent a SAR request? If so you need to wait 40 days. If you haven’t and you have all your statements the send the prelim letter with the schedule of charges attached. I think you would be far better putting the true amount that they owe you because you could be doing your self out of money and I think it make your case look stronger if it goes to court.

Have a look through this lot it will help and also start a thread in the Halifax forum.

I’m sure you will get all the answers you need there.

Not sure about that but if you use the methods on this site you will stand a better chance of reclaiming all your money back. There are a lot of people on here that know what they are talking about.

Thank you, i will wait the standard 40 days, however can someone please let me know why the BBC is apparantely giving out incorrect advise?

The reason is that they have not read the FAQs.:D :D :D

Have a look at the survey results...... over £5,000,000 successfully reclaimed by our members and that is a reduced figure..... a lot of users just disappear once they have their money and don't fill out the survey.

Good luck with your claim.

Regards, Rooster.
