OK, well I've received my statements going back 6 years now and have used the spreadsheet on here to help calculate the amount. It comes to a staggering £3,975.50 without interest. I simply cannot believe that they have charged me this amount over the years. They (HSBC) didn't even send me a letter each time. I estimate that I only received a letter for about 25% of these charges.

So.. it is now time for me to submit my first letter.

Here goes...

i'm breaking my xmas break to ask - did you include overdraft interest as it is likely to be a fair amount. in case you need it - read my post number 9 on honey's link - it explains, in easy terms, the interest difference and how to do it. if you already have included it - just ignore this, here's the link:

HONEYGIE sees you HSBC! (multipage.gif1 2 3)

i'll be back in a couple of days.

OK, I have just received my first response from HSBC. It seems to be some kind of holding letter, though, and gives no informaiton either way. It simply reads:

Thanks for the letter, I'm looking into the matter and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigation.

I haven;t read anything on other people's accounts abotu them being sent this letter. Should I be worried, I'm not sure???!!!?!?!?

Not sure what to do next.
