I rung Halifax a couple of days before filing my MCOL - said much the same as you that I was happy to get my charges back and that it would cost Halifax 720ish in interest and 250 court charges (fast-track) and they agreed to repay all but £30, this was on 22nd December, received acceptance form on 23rd and now waiting for money to go into account, so don't sell yourself short. Read my thread if it helps (took the advice from Hillards). Good luck.

nice one claire, your story has filled me with hope! I have just refused a settlement that was £575.00 less than my claim and might try giving them a ring in a few days to see what they come up with

Well done!!

Nice work Claire

Have re-titled your thread:)

I would just add this reminder tho.......The site does not advocate comms by phone or e mail since it puts them in the driving seat.

It is extremely rare to get full settlement from the Halifax out of court by telephone dealings.

We do however understand that the claimant has the choice to go down this route if they are in need of the money more speedily than taking the court road.

I would remind Halifax claimants however that 95% of Halifax claims are settled in full with the money in your account or on your doormat within 12 days or so of Halifax acknowledging the court claim.!!!!

Many Many Many Congratulations

jaxads

Halifax - £2281, successfully refunded all charges after LBA letter & telephone call.

Have been offered the difference between the £20 and £12 charges from Capital One -- am sending LBA for remainder.

GE Money - Received settlement of £441, being total charges requested. No interest though.

CCA'd Bank of Scotland / Blair Oliver Scott to produce CCA Agreements on two Credit Cards - well in default, although still chasing payment!!!

EOS Solutions "ceased action on account" on behalf of a friend.

All in all, quite busy at the moment and enjoying every minute of it
