I was searching google for something completely unrelated and came across this site there is some really interesting stuff here.

One thing that did make me wonder though your suggested 5% donation couldn't people add that to there claim as legal costs.

Hi Bovski,

Not really as it isn't a legal cost. It is a voluntary contribution for those people who feel that they have been helped to recover money they never thought they would see again, and who want to see the site continue it's good work for others.

Hi Bovski, welcome to our family.

To answer your questions.....

I was searching google and came across this site there is some really interesting stuff here.

That is the understatement of the year. I've been here since March and I'm still being suprised by the depth of informatiion on this site.

One thing that did make me wonder though your suggested 5% donation couldn't people add that to there claim as legal costs.
We make no charge, whatsoever, to anyone who uses this site. The donations are completely voluntary. There is no pressure on anyone to make a donation. We are glad to accept any donation because it is the donations that pay the considerable costs involved in maintaining and improving this site. Not even the owners get a cut. The figure of 5% is arbitrary (probably because 5 and % are on the same key. In practice this means that you donate as much or as little as you want, or not at all.

If the value of a donation was added to the claim, then that would presuppose that everyone would pay 5% or whatever, regardless of the user's personal choice. The site would then no longer be free.

Being totally non-profit making allows us exemption from certain legislation which may well force other sites to close.

If anyone freely wants to donate, we are happy to accept the donation.

If not, well that's life. We will still wish them well.:)

Regards, Rooster.

It would be down to the user's personal choice to add the 5% or not for legal advice therefore the site would still be free. But now even to donators.

Receiving more funds wouldn't necessarily turn this into a profit making organisation. If you raised enough funds you may even be able to afford TV advertising for the site that would really upset with the banks.

But back to my original point I think nona got more of the gist of what I was asking.
