I am repeatedly coming across this scene from all over the uk(clients etc) who are confirming that natwest are showing cheques as cleared funds on te 2nd working day after being banked. I have not seen this personally but i thik that this is a major loop hole that has been uncovered. Anybody else experience this with them ?

I love answering these questions but No it isn;t necessarily the case except in cases where it is done in house. I'll explain, if a cheque is drawn on Bishopsgate branch and the person goes into Bishopsgate branch and the account it is going into is on opened at Bishopsgate then the cheque clears overnight. Do you understand it? it is effectively all in house even though it is sent to a cheque clearing centre

The clearing process is 5 working days but on day 3 it is cleared for interest purposes(However my understanding is that on day 4 people can draw on the cheque from the ATM)
