Should we trust Sunak or the next PM to fix the Country's problems? (title revised 24/10/22)

Recommended Posts

Going to b e fun watching Reform (deform more accurate) and the (not)Tories catfight

.. or will they merge into the Conservative Deform and lets party party- sounds about the right title

Hopefully they will vanish up each others back door funding portals

The Tory Legacy

Record high Taxes, Immigration, Excrement in waterways, energy company/crony profits

Record low: living standards and investment

Crumbling Hospitals, Schools, council services, businesses and roads

“This is specifically not allowed. Mr. Mansour used to be a Cabinet Minister in Egypt, he has given the Tories a huge amount of money, and immediately gets a knighthood.

That seems straightforwardly corrupt.  Shouldn’t they both be in jail?”

All may change - but any budget bribes should be considered with the following

  • UK runs 14.3 billion-pound budget deficit in November
  • Reuters poll had pointed to 12.9 bln pound shortfall
  • Budget deficit so far this tax year running higher
  • ONS revises up borrowing for earlier months

Two of the core issues

The tax the guv is receiving from fuel prices (high price = good tax but bad opinion polls)

Gilts

MARKETS.FT.COM

UK 10 year Gilt, interest rates, bond rates, bond rate

In simple terms, theres absolutely no signs of fiscal responsibility creeping in - so its all short term stuff for short term poll gains with long term pain for the nation.

All roads with streetlighting as oper the rules for 30 limit as was, so all Restricted 30 mph become 20, unless a Council put an exception in so in effect If I co to Llandudno to Old Colwyn  its 20 mph for 6.5 of the 7 mile trip.

20mph - showoff.

Most major roads around here are lucky to be moving at 10-15 mph at rush hour

and even at 15mph you will buckle your wheel in a new (or one fixed a fortnight ago) pothole

20mph - luxury

Came off the M1 at just over 50 a couple weeks ago and thought they'd put rumble strips further up the slip road - they hadn't

Care to show where the Con party are doing better in England or even NOT significantly worse? and the HSE's impact on the issues you link?

With English hospitals collapsing and a number, including university hospitals in special measures

- after more than a decade of Tory policies?

perhaps, but there are scales of disaster, with the (usedtobe)Tories head, shoulders and torso above the rest in the disaster scale, especially since the wannabe kippers took them over.

- and it DOES seem from the outside that despite a few cock-ups Drakeford buffered Wales from a LOT of the right wing Westminster Torykippers self and VIPal serving antics, just as Sturgeon did for Scotland.

Oh and for those who wonder how the kippers/re-deform would do - just look at the current westminster failures, incompetence, cronyism, and self-serving and multiply by at least 3 or 4

So Sunak has allowed truss the trust-less' dishonor list

Three new lawmakers for the House of Lords:

Matthew Elliott, who helped set up the Vote Leave campaign;

- So for lying and conning the UK public promising much and delivering the opposite

Jon Moynihan, a businessman, party donor and chair of Vote Leave;

- for £700,000

and Ruth Porter, her former deputy chief of staff.

- for managing the shortest and arguably most disastrous purely cronyistic (so far) UK PM-shi* err -ship

A few cock-ups🤣Drakeford has almost single-handedly wrecked the Welsh economy
And as for Sturgeon where did all the money go?
and how about the virtually unused motor home?
and drugs and drink problems in Scotland

a) Not the UK guvs fault

b) Not done in a far far worse manner in England by the UK guv

Just to add for Juggs benefit

The Welsh Government has said that cutting the speed limit would protect lives and save the NHS in Wales £92million a year.

But the project is costing around £33million to implement, while it is expected to hit the economy by up to £9billion.

That Telegraph article is accurate, they don't want us to use cars they see a 30 mile each way commute on a cycle as viable even in the rain and dark on unlut rural roads, which are not being maintaied.

Seems significant benefits for a VERY small real world impact - and those figures sure look real world to me - as already stated.

"The headline statistics show a 2.9 mph drop in speeds on the surveyed roads, averaging 19.77 mph compared to 22.67 mph the week before the change."

"The switch from 30mph to 20mph doesn’t make a significant difference to journey times; the increase in journey time for urban travel is just 17 seconds per mile and could be less in rural areas."

"A blanket speed limit on all roads will not be applied but the legislation will make the default limit 20mph, leaving local authorities to engage with communities to decide which roads should remain at 30mph."

NATION.CYMRU

A new analysis of traffic data, released one week after Wales introduced a default 20mph speed limit, has revealed what researchers described...

Might hit loons that break the speed limit on estate roads though ... bonus.

Just need some actual bobbies out there to get that - so not under the tories.
