Should we trust Sunak or the next PM to fix the Country's problems? (title revised 24/10/22)

Somerset described Brexit as a financial risk in a 2018 prospectus to a new fund it launched, at a time when Rees-Mogg was among the most prominent proponents of a “hard” Brexit in which the UK left the EU’s single market.

The Guardian has also previously reported that Somerset was an investor in oil and coal mining. Rees-Mogg has been an advocate for the continued extraction of fossil fuels.

“This is specifically not allowed. Mr. Mansour used to be a Cabinet Minister in Egypt, he has given the Tories a huge amount of money, and immediately gets a knighthood.

That seems straightforwardly corrupt.  Shouldn’t they both be in jail?”

From the Mail's Jason Groves on Twitter.

'NEW: The cost of the govt’s Rwanda scheme has *doubled* before a single migrant has been sent there. Home Office admits tonight it has handed over another £100m this year, on top of the original £140m cost - with a further £50m to follow next year'

Guardian readers on here  trying to ignore this 🤣🤣🤣

“Was it my imagination, on Tuesday morning, that there were more than the usual number of possible Guardian readers looking down in the mouth? I don't think so.

A few of them, with that hard-to-define but easy-to-recognise look of Guardianistas, appeared unusually pensive. Had some momentous event occurred that had made them question their prejudices?

Later in the morning, I stumbled on a possible cause. There was an article prominently displayed in the Guardian print edition and on its website under the byline of the paper's Economics Editor, Larry Elliott. Its headline ran: 'I've got news for those who say Brexit is a disaster: It isn't. That's why rejoining is just a pipe dream.'”

The Rwanda Policy - aka £300+ million quid UK taxpayer gift to Rwanda to (not) send 300 migrants

Plus a couple of hundred Rwanda asylum seekers sent here

So it seems the Rwanda policy is up to 300 people (maybe 500) for 5 years, who can be sent back here if they commit a crime - and Rwanda can send a couple of hundred asylum seekers here (and I'll bet they will - oh dear - bet the right dont like that)

All at a cost of: £140 million + £100 million + £50 million next year (possibly each year) even if no one is sent + UK costs of a couple £million

= roughly 300 million pounds for  .. nowt - other than a dog whistle

.. and further trashing the UKs STANDING IN THE WORLD (thrown in free)

£300 million ... PLUS £169,000 per person sent = another £50 million+ on top if they send 300 people

add to that the cost to the UK of the 200 sent to us from Rwanda - as they surely will

What cretinous incompetent ...... dreamt this lot up ?

Whats Braverman got from Rwanda for the gift of £300 million plus of UK taxpayer money and taking a few hundred of their asylum seekers??

How many houses would 300 million quid build in the UK? and they should last a bit longer than 5 years?

Details still coming out - but if thats all as it seems ... for Gods sake ..

Braverman seemingly hugely amused at Rwanda building holiday chalets with garages at UK taxpayer expense?

'Yes, important Rwandan politicians need a second home with room for their cavalcade of cars and security staff away from the cities' Its not like they will be housing refugees lol lol lol

- that ones yours or you can let it out

big program to get every brexiter/kipper/EDL right wing/ and Boris fan to vote for Farage wasn't there? and it seems they did - some probably voted multiple times ...

Got him 3rd out of 3 after everyone who wanted to see him eat kangaroo poo no longer had a reason to vote?

- similar to his attempts to get a seat in UK parliament - so expected.

and they just claim 'they're lost' when they lose the case not to ;present them

So, about time they called up the civil servants who are supposed to ensure government business is documented properly - to give evidence in 'abuse of position/demeaning the high positions of state /treason charges

bet the phones and messages would quickly turn up then - which shouldn't prevent the charges in any way.

Like you, I suspect other people know what happened. There was a poll or two over the weekend and around 70% of those who were polled didn't believe the excuses.

I'm surprised the inquiry didn't push further on that. I'd have thought the police/MI5/GCHQ could have accessed the messages. Or possibly a random 12 year-old.

If they'd worked in the real world, using their own phones, WhatsApps and so on could have got them in a lot of trouble.
