Hello everyone

a couple of questions please

1) I’ve a default from June 2017 ( it was a hitachi loan but then sold on to the Cabot financial.

I’ve been paying £15 a month for a while but if I decided to stop paying them, will they default still drop off in June 2023 or can Cabot add a default from when I last stopped paying ?

2) As I have several creditors I’m struggling to be able to pay some, and others are manageable only just.

However it’s very hard for me to keep an eye on how much each one needs to be paid every month.

I’m asking.does anyone know if is there any kind of organisation where they will take one payment from me and pay the companies with the money I paid.

i know there is step change but some of the accounts are not yet In trouble but are maxed limits.

1. yes, no.

2. please list your debts

what type of credit

when you took it out

who owns the debt a DCa or the original creditor.

who you are paying now

amount owed

why are you blindly paying any debt owned by a dca? without sending a CCA request ?

you dont need anyone to manage your debts

do it yourself!!

As DX says you can manage this yourself, it's REALLY simple, you don't need a third party to get involved and confuse things.

Plenty of help and excellent advice all here under one roof.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

DX,

I am In arrears (and maxed out )of one month with several CC companies and am at the risk of being unable to pay hence finding a 3rd party to pay everyone so I don’t have to stress every month finding out how much I need to pay who. It’s draining. Just one simple payment.

In relation to the other question of mine ,

My main debts are as follows:

original creditor : Aqua

Account opened : 26 September 2013

Defaulted : 27/06/2017

Taken over and sold to Cabot sometime after July 2017.

amount remaining : £2898

The default for this drops off next year.

If I stop paying this will it drop off still or could a new default date be applied or updated ?

Last one was

Original creditor Hitachi Capital Finance.

Account opened : 19/01/2016

Defaulted 30/06/2019

Sold to Lowell Portfolio One sometime in July 2019.

amount remaining : £4037.

you can do this yourself, use our pro rata letter from the debt collection section of library.

paid, paying or not paying a debt drops off your file on the defaulted dates 6th b'day, though that does not mean the debt might not be owed.

send each a CCA request

Read what it says?

Without enforceable paperwork a debt is unenforceable in consumer law

Plenty for you to read on other people's threads in this same forum, don't be a DCA cash cow

God no never   you are one line in a portfolio spreadsheet of 1000's of purchased debts of debtors.

A debt buyer typically purchases debts for 10p = £1. But still fleece you for the full value .

9/10 the paperwork doesn't exit anyway, just think, why didn't the original creditors take you to court and crush you, but chose to sell the debt for 10% of its value...urm .... .

But when selling a debt to a DCA, wouldn’t they  have sent them all info including a cca

not a chance, your account is just part of a bulk cash sale of hundreds/thousands
the debt buyers pay carboot prices but hope to collect as if new goods

You do not sign a CCA request, doesnt matter how you produce it.

Why dont you use a library or a friend or neighbour  with a printer?

Youve got several to send out.

I have decided to send CCA to only two.

the others are credit cards but I’ve since made

payments and have cleared the arrears as I was a month late.

the only problem I’m facing with those is that once they later apply interest I go over limit and get charged 12 quid each time aswell as being over. It’s a never ending battle.

If you are paying a dca on any debt they own, cca them.

£12 penalty charges are unlawful, reclaim them

Well use our pro rata letter from the dca section of our library that puts rhem on notice they will only get xxxx if they freeze int and charges . using Credit is a bad way to keep living day to day.

or investigate the breathing space scheme.

You must take control.

absolutely no point continuing on that monthly basis. Stop all payments to them
Open yourself an unconnected parachute account, and pay the money that you were paying credit cards, dcas etc into it
build up a cash reserve and offer your credit cards a very small pro rata monthly payment
the way you are operating your c cards, sooner or later under FCA guidance the banks will pull the plug anyway
and the monies you are currently paying will be wasted
Please answer dx post no2
