Hi all

I have just posted my court papers, and thought now would be a good time to tackle the charges the Abbey gave me. My only problem is that the account was transferred to a collection agency, I have now paid it back, but I don't have any of my original account details, what can I do? Can I write to the Abbey HO and request my statements including the last address I had the account at, or do I have to do something else?

me again, if I had thought about it properly this question was probably best put on the abbey thread, but it's here now!

Hi Miss Diane.

Send a Data Protection Act SARS letter to the bank (in the letter templates section of the library).

Include your account number and sort code. Also enclose the £10 fee.

The bank then has 40 days to comply with your request.

If you no longer have your a/c number and sort code, give them details of all the addresses that you have had during the term of the account. Ask them if they require proof of identity and if so, in what form.

You can claim back up to six years.

Good luck with your claim.

Regards, Rooster.
