I received the letter and annex's in the attachment today. I have scanned the letter, Annex 1, First page of Annex 2 and the first page of Annex 3. In addition there was an application form, terms and conditions (printed from an archive or web page) and a statement of account.

I can also advise that the debt was circa AED90k and is now over AED700k.

I left Dubai at the end of 2014.

I am unsure if I need to do anything with these documents.

Kind of.

If I click on the PAP link in your email they have sent pages 7 onwards.

They have not provided the introduction, just Annex 1 onwards.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

In relation to your request for documentsinformation please see below our responses.pdf

I received the response back as attached. I received a copy of the application (shown in the attachment), the terms and conditions from some form of web archive and a printed transaction statement.

Original signed finance agreement together with the terms and conditions IN ENGLISH
Any notice of change in account terms and conditions that were ever issued since credit approval
Any notice of default or UAE equivalent that was issued by the original creditor
All and every statement of the account including how any interest has been calculated.

Proof that UAE Court Judgement has already been gained upon said debt.
Proof the UK Pre Action Protocol allows a UK Solicitor to issue a Letter Of Claim and

/or issue court proceedings concerning a UAE debt. The UAE is not a 'member state' .

That is all I have. Do I now wait and see how they respond?

  • 1 month later...

This is interesting it looks like they have sent out the pap to force a reply .

Am I right in thinking that by replying to the pap you are acknowledging the debt and the statute time is reset.

What happens if you ignore the pap has anyone tried this.

Just looks like a new harassment tactics to me.

Especially when it is followed up by a settlement offer.

no and no. you cant reset anything simply by writing unless you were dumb enoght to state i owe you this money and agree i do and signed it...:frusty:

they'll try for a backdoor CCJ esp if your last address that you informed their client of IN WRITING is a differing one from now or you've move around in the UK.

no its part of the 2015 pre action protocol the must abide by .

you really should create your own topic

you seem rather green.........
