Parcelshop did not scan my parcel - it is now lost/stolen and Hermes says they have no trace of it

I won't be able to receive my refund from Amazon as they haven't received my parcel, and it cannot be claimed "lost" because they haven't scanned the parcel at the parcelshop. There is a CCTV at the parcelshop, which could prove my husband brought 3 parcels into the shop that evening. Hermes says they are sorry, but that's all. So do I let the parcelshop get away with it? Won't Hermes take any action against the Parceshop? I guess it's my word against theirs. What to do?

It is very unhelpful to post solid blocks of text in the way that you have.

Do I understand that you have a receipt which says there were three parcels?

Also, what was in the parcel and what was the value?

 

Also do I understand that you have a separate tracking number for the missing parcel?

Yes, I have a receipt from the parcelshop where they wrote the number of parcels as "3". But Hermes confirmed that under that tracking number from parcelshop's receipt there are indeed just 2 parcels recorded, not 3.

 

The third parcel is non-existent, it did not enter Hermes's network. 

 

All three parcels have their own tracking number, the other 2 parcels were successfully delivered. They were returns to retailers, prepaid return labels used. 

 

The lost parcel's contents is not anything valuable, just jigsaw/puzzle, £10 value. But it's about the principle, and stealing.

The important thing is that you have the parcel shop which is basically a Hermes agent which has accepted three parcels and you have evidence of that.

If you want to bring a claim against Hermes then we will help you.
Don't worry about the value. We even had somebody here who claimed £8.97 from Hermes and they force them to start a county court claim and it went to mediation before Hermes paid the whole lot including the court fees.

If you want to sue Hermes for £10 then that is absolutely your right to do so.

Start off by spending a day or so reading around many of the Hermes stories on this forum and then come back here and we will start to take you through the steps.
Before you start reading, send Hermes an email explain what has happened and tell them you are holding them liable.
That's the first step

Thank you, I will search and read other Hermes stories in this forum.

 

Yes I am in contact with Hermes via emails; they just say "sorry for the inconvenience caused" and that's it, so I sent them another email this afternoon and I am waiting for their response.
