OK, I've reported as spam. It's finally sinking in, slowly but surely. This is a real education.

They haven't emailed me, but I emailed them when this all started before coming on this forum. If they email back, should I just say I prefer letter?

  • dx100uk changed the title to Erudio/capquest chasing/offering discounts to settle missed deferment loans - Scotland
  • 1 month later...

Hi again.

I received several notice of sums in arrears letters this morning. These letters also state that "you may have to pay default sums and interest in relation to the missed or partly made payments referred to on this notice".

The sums in arrears refer to all of my student loan debt. What should I do? Is it continue to do nothing?

I also notice that the sums have increased significantly between 2019 and now.

For example, an Annual Statement in 2019 notes that for one loan, I was provided with £1735 credit. The sum of arrears letter for the same loan now states that I have a closing balance of £2920, a rise of £1185. There is a similar pattern with the others, ranging from £347 to £1130 being added on to the sums. In total, they say I now owe around £13,000, when the 2019 annual statement shoed I owed £8390 - £5000 has been added in the space of 2 years.

The sum of arrears letters say I can ask for further details of default sums and interest. Should I do this?

Sorry,

I mis-read the 2019 annual statement, so please forget the questions about that.

The increases are actually much smaller (less than £100 over two years for each loan).

I was looking at the 'credit provided', rather than the closing balance after interest on the 2019 annual statement.

simply notices they have to send under the various credit rules if they consider themselves a creditor.

safe to ignore , just auto generated letters. means nothing.

Hi, I've been supported here before.

I forgot to defer to Erudio due to extenuating circumstances for some two years. I submitted late deferral forms in Feb 2022, but have still not been put back into deferral and get sent regular notices of sums in arrears.

Advice from dx on this site is to ignore and let it run.

However, I currently have a credit application in. Will the fact the account is in arrears affect my ability to get credit or a mortgage etc?

Should I send in annual deferrals despite the fact they are not acknowledged?

shouldn't be showing on credit files.?

Hi,

when I check my credit files myself, it's not showing.

However, I can see some discussions on mumsnet saying Erudio marked their credit files when in arrears.

If you're saying that doesn't happen, that's great.

I wondered if credit and mortgage providers had access to more into than what shows on your own credit file.

When I send off my next batch of deferrals, should I ask why my account has not been put back into deferral now I've provided them with payslips to cover the whole period when I didn't defer?

I want this written off. I was due to have it written off in 2023, but they said this will not happen unless I pay the 'arrears'.

They don't send me deferral forms now, likely because it's in arrears. I'm printing off and using the old SLC ones.

If you cant see it neither can lenders. And even if they could they cant see the full report, onLy each debts summary line.

if write does not happen, then fos time as already pointed too.

the trouble with mumsnet is they sadly dont listen upon how to properly deal with erudio, i tried once! Gave up.

Ok, so I just set my own reminder and defer every year using SLC forms?

The reason I'm asking is that even when I sent the backdated forms earlier this year, nothing happened and I've not been deferred.

My thinking was to defer every August as I did before

but if it ever goes to the FOS , you'll have proof you did what was required. you also need to remember you've never earned above the threshold nor admitted in writing that you did not defer , who says you didn't, only a rep on the phone which was your 1st big mistake.

again i stress you need to read the very like threads already here and the FOS decisions made regarding erudio and these unfair 'arrears' already adjudged on the FOS website.

Ok, I will defer every year from now on.

However, as discussed earlier in the thread, I've already admitted to not deferring, in writing, explaining the extenuating circumstances leading to that (briefly), as advised.

I've collected, but not submitted to Erudio, evidence as to why I didn't defer (as discussed here too).

I suppose I can't do anything about that now.

Thanks for your patience and help.

break it down into the true reality, not that of what the erudio scammers might think.

you only missed two deferment periods.

they waited 2yrs to call you, why didnt they do it earlier, why didnt they look at your credit file find your correct address and write, because they wanted to scam you with fake arrears as that stops later write off. you have also never earned over the repayment threshold anyway.

you came here feb 2022 and latterly filed in feb 22 2 slc forms covering 2020-2021 & 2021-2022.

they even wrote to you that they were holding for 30 days till mar 22.

you also sent an additional form for 2022-2023 .

they also sent you various discount offers in 2021...doesn't really speck to highly of what they think their chances are if this does get investigated does it.

next deferment is not due till feb 2023.

Hi, I got a bunch of notice of sums in arrears.

Everything is now in arrears, even though I've sent in deferments since.

How can this be?!

Does it make any difference?

Is there any way of getting out of arrears?

pretty much std practice if you go read a few erudio threads already here.

they have to send NOSIA if they wish to charge arrears fees, which are unlawful anyway.
