Going to Court

Hello all,

 

New on here and a bit daunted. However, having read some success stories I am left wondering if there are any unsuccessful claims, where the bank has just rejected the claim and gone to the court and won.

 

I have started the ball rolling by paying the £10 and getting the statements but was just wondering - if it goes to court - thenwhat?

Hi Max

Don't worry, there haven't been any successes for the banks cos they haven't taken anyone to court that I know of - they'll capitulate eventually if you follow the advice on this site at each stage of your claim(s).

Spend time reading this forum, there's a wealth of knowledge on here.

 

Read people success stories etc etc, you will get a feel for the steps you are likely to take...

It is all a bit daunting at first and takes a while to get to grips with the ins and outs of everything, but as CitizenSmith and Rimardo have rightly put, just follow the steps within this forum and wyou cant go wrong. If, and it's a very small if, you end up in court, then we are all here to help.

There was one (I repeat, one) successful defence by NatWest but it was very early on, back in January, I think. They managed to argue successfully that their charges were for a service. As far as I can gather, they were never pressed to explain precisely what the service was, what it involved nor the costs incurred.

We have all come a long way since then and the templates help you to ensure you don't miss anything. And there are me, Muggins, Rimardo and all of Uncle Martyn's willing helpers here, too!

It is daunting at first but take some time to read through the FAQs and step-by-step guide and you'll gain in confidence. And remember - you probably won't have to think up so much as one original letter. Someone, somewhere will have gone through already and come up with it.

Have a look at my thread (Natwesttookmymoney-v-Natwest) which can be accessed by clicking on my name alongside this reply. You'll see that I wasn't always the cocky bigmouth I am now - I was apprehensive to begin with, too!
