I am currently composing my letter for Data Protection subject access request and I am reading that you have to send a payment of £10 to the bank for previous statement. As I do not have a cheque book please can you advise the best/secure way to send this money. Would it be possible to advise the bank that if they wish to take the charge of £10 then they can do so out of my account?

Cheers

Nick

Send a postal order instead.

Good luck.

Good luck.

If i send a postal order and they send it back would i be able to cash it? Also i'm unsure of the name to put on the postal order, i bank with Barclays.

Cheers

I have helped 3 of my friends with data protection act SARs and they all bank within the Barclays group (Woolwich included). Each one has had their cheque returned. My sister didn't even send a cheque (she forgot to include it) and they still sent the statements.

I would give them permission to debit your account no more than £10 if they decide to charge you for this service.
