just got a cheque from my bank this morning for £240.00 by way of settlement but my claim is for £920.00!

they say its a final offer and if i persist with my claim will counter claim against me for breaching THEIR terms when i opened my account...ie. going overdrawn with not enough funds in etc.

any of you lot had a similar carry on?

seeing as they,ve only offered a quarter of what im claiming for ,thinking of pushing me luck, but someone told me at work this claiming of bank charges has made em think and are ACTUALLY going to court now to stop the flow of claimants.

what do you reckon chaps...deal or no deal

You can accept it as part payment but you need to state this to the bank and that you interned to take the claim all the way if that is what you want to do.

Looking round the threads I think most people are getting pay outs with out going in to court but people are having to file the claims. Don’t worry.

clarkey- Welcome to the CAG and if the institution wants to take you to court for breach of contract then it will be a win win for you because they will have to disclose the true cost of the breach of contract which will not be what they have charged you. as mbdiss has said, you can accept as a part payment and go for the lot which you will get. Good Luck

I came I saw I helped. I could do no more.

Hi Clarky

Which bank is it?. The bank if they did go to court would have to disclose the true cost. They will settle before it gets that far.
