Hi all,

Virgin Active (Kirkstall) lost their contract and the gym was switched to Bannatyne... now I am paying Bannatyne for a membership that was with Virgin Active. Is there anything that can be done? Surely I shouldn't have to pay to exit this non-existent contract I signed with Bannatyne?

yes simply WRITE statin you wish to cancel.

allow ONE more DD to come out following your letter which complies with the industry std of one months notice.

then cancel your DD and ignore everyone.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Swales and welcome to CAG

Bannatynes tell users they require 3 months notice to leave but we always tell folk to challenge/ignore this.

I doubt you're bound to Bannatynes by vitue of the Virgin agreement.

Do as DX says - printed letter addressed to the Gym Manager :-

Dear sir or madam,

This is 30 days notice that I am cancelling my gym membership.

I will allow 1 final payment to be taken by DD, after which I will tell the bank to cancel the DD mandate.

Yours faithfully,

If they say you have to give 3 months notice, don't even bother arguing with gym staff.

Let us know if you get any demands from the gym or maybe ARC (their admin company).

We could do with some help from you
