I sent off my £10 with the standard request however, I cannot find any trace of my old account number so I sent them previous addresses etc. I know they are perfectly capable of tracing this however, they have told me they are not going to and have returned my £10.00 Does anyone have any advice as to how I could get these details?

You're quite right saying that they are perfectly capable of tracing this information. Write back to them, enclosing the cheque again, advising that you've given more than enough information to enable them to trace your account, and remind them that they only have xx number of days to respond to your request before you report them to the Information Commissioner. That should soon get their backsides into gear!
