Had account with Nationwide £2040 overdrawn (charges etc)

Passed on to DCA, paid £1200 full settlement about 2 weeks ago

Phoned nationwide, balance now £2090.

Also payment to go into account by bacs for £659.

What happens here. Cannot stop payment, already gone through.

I believe account should be £0 + £659= £659 balance.

But if the £659 goes in before dca pay in, what happens? Will the £2090 be reduced by £659 then be settled when dca pass on funds?

  • 2 weeks later...

Account still overdrawn, despite paying the £1200 in full and funal settlement, to debt collectors.. @ 20th dec.

And the £656 was also swallowed up by overdraft already settled beforehand..

Hi nathal!

First thing I would do is open another current account PRONTO and have wages/DD's etc paid in/out of that one.

The DCA is Nationwide's In House one I take it?

In my particular case they FROZE my flexaccount for THREE WHOLE WEEKS, even though I was £1,600 in Credit!!!

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I don't use the account any more. Its due for closure. The only reason the payment went in was cause i set it up one year ago, for a grant scheme.

But as the dca received the full and final payment, on 29th nov, is it not cleared until nationwide receive it?
