Car just clamped, re registered yet ? 24hr notice .

Hello,

I have just discovered my newly purchased car has been clamped. All info left point to, or suggests cartaxenforcement.co.uk. This is just a leaflet, inf32, and a clamp on my wheel.

I am still waiting for relevant documents to arrive. I have requested old ones forwarded to me, also requested new from Dvla. Yet no show. Having even written to Dvla a few times only to be prompted to give info already given.  Told simply to try our webchat service only to be prompted to try our phone lines and receive no answer, before my phone bill ran out .

I have tried to tax and other things only to be requested some number or other that I don't have. I have said this in a previous letter to the Dvla that I am not concerned by the cost of tax, If I could pay it I would.

I mean what's to understand, if I Sorn it they will tow the car away .

The same time I am still waiting for the council to come up with a garage,  so that I can complete a few pre Mot repairs, It wont pass a is. I have bought a lot of parts. Having spoken to nearest Mot station everything's ok ?

Ironically the wheel clamped is the very same as the new tyre put on a day or so ago. 4 new tyres, only one fitted for some reason, brace wouldn't fit ?

Big deal now, guessed if they wanted to buy it who's stopping them. I wonder also if someone else is trying to register , buy, it in there name.  Having spoken to a law firm specialising in these matters only to get a 'we cant help you' I really dont know what to do .

So here I am looking at £100 release form clamp and other fines, demanded immediately via card .

I am a learner driver, just a learner, should I be treated this way, I feel the end is near .

What should I do ?

Even learner drivers have to tax their cars, if they wish to have them on a public highway.

What do you mean by “I feel the end is near”?

That's kind of self explanatory . Financially firstly , secondly law abiding and in business with the town council .

I wonder how it is that you can do that to someone servicing and repairing vehicle for the Mot, with a garage at the end of the road and in conference with them , without even talking or contacting the owner or keeeper even.  It , if still there, in my allocated parking area. I also have a garage net to it, so is my obode.

I understand and have seen vehicles removed, as sat for years and asbo's removed from there loved machines . Even then seeing cars and other vehicles stolen too .

If you’d put it in that garage and SORN’d it : you’d not have to pay road tax

if it is parked on the road (that is kept at public expense, not private) / Not SORN’d : you risk the penalty if untaxed.

Saying “but other people get away with it” doesn’t mean you can / will.

it should not have been on the public highway without road tax...end of ...no if's or buts sadly.

Thank's for you thoughts there .

I only wonder how a theft of motor vehicle, my suspicion and  thoughts, can be legally supported by blackmail .

Specialist legal advice came back as pretty quiet . A cost no question .  This struck as suspicious .

,, the G'p's fine  , and , again , a garage is just more money for them . It's almost back to the old 0800 advice scam scene again .

I think the Redex1 needs to deal with this properly instead of trying to look for different angles to get out of it which there are NONE.

The Vehicle was parked on a Public Highway with NO TAX NOR MOT and was not declared SORN the DVLA vehicle with cameras caught the Vehicle it was then Clamped and a BIG sticker placed on the Vehicle stating it was not taxed with the inf32.

This gives you the option to deal with it rapidly before said Vehicle is Uplifted and impounded.

Irrespective that you are a new learner driver you have to abided by the Law.

Find out how much you have to pay and where you have to collect your vehicle from if it's been clamped or impounded

I wish I could understand what you are hinting at but not overtly saying.

May I suggest buying shares in Alcan’s Millinery division?

Regardless of whatever plots / scams you feel may be in play here: you needed tax, or to have the vehicle in a garage / not visible to a DVLA camera car.

Hi Redex1

Please answer the questions asked of you.

Irrespective of what you say you need to fully read my post#9.

From your post#13 I take it you Do Not have the V5C please correct me if I am wrong?

You also stating you have no money left so how were you going to get that vehicle up to MOT standard and to Tax the vehicle?

You need to remember you parked this vehicle on a Public Highway untaxed and it has been Uplifted and Impounded and if you do not follow the link posted in my post#9.

Other people having there space back, your disabled travel pass, riot van has absolutely nothing to do with your present situation with your vehicle been impounded due to been untaxed.

You need to stop and take a breather and answer the questions asked without any waffle if you want to get any advice to assist you

just to clarify this ' garage, and road tax , i have no problem with paying for them . dispite using just about no fuel and no road milage .

Not  sorn ,  you read and understand what you will. i have explained this.  it would be an offence for me to ssorn, attempt to sorn, another persons vehicle.

Saying, i have said nothing of the sort . I purchased a vehicle, in the belief  that dvla would forward relevant docs . this so that i could sorn or furthermore proceed to  have service repairs prior to mot .

  i hope this helps .

Hi, thank's . I a only following gov.uk advice and info. i had no intent to break any laws , harass or put others at risk .

Yes you need to  ' inform the dvla if your going to sorn or other ' .i don't put ' camera car ?' as a threat . there a part of the traffic management .

I wonder if you could be questioning something, there .

tiny, [email protected]   i believe it was mine .

it was agreed we would deal with the registration documents online and reuest new ones . the form he had at the time just looked like a application form, and due to covid retrictions we continued. we felt there ould be no problem with this as it is a standard procedure.  seller has, as i have, informed dvla of the situation, sale, transfer of ownership, of vehicle.

Interestingly you state i have been fined, and i have had no contact with the tampered and removers of my respected and worked on , not abandoned vehicle.

i have felt rather pressured by some questions, statements on this post.

Tin foil hat.

Look, you need to resolve this.

You can spout rubbish / conspiracy theories all you like. A number of people have asked about the V5c but you initially didn’t answer, and now any answer you’ve given is

a) vague,  (“have said nothing of the sort . I purchased a vehicle, in the belief  that dvla would forward relevant docs . it's all online gov.uk, dvla , no paper anywhere .”)

and

b) submerged in your paranoid postulations

Why did you not insist on the v5c (or walk away from the purchase!)

If you are keen to resolve this you can

a) pay the penalty charge

b) pay the surety to get the clamp removed

 c) put the car in the garage until it is resolved, and

d) look to get it taxed within 14 days to get the surety back

Alternatively you can continue to spout nonsensical/ irrelevant replies such as “in to the hands of America”

It depends on if you are actually looking to take responsibility for your actions, and move forward to get this sorted, or are just bleating conspiracy rubbish / looking for sympathy but with no real intent to sort this / seek help with it.

As for “ i have felt rather pressured by some questions, statements on this post.”

people can’t help you if you won’t help yourself. Answering questions e.g. about the V5c, is necessary.

The vehicle must be in your name at the dvla database for you to be fined/clamped...

So..how have the dvla attained this information...you filled out a v62 and sent it too them?

@Redex1

Thank you for your response to my post#16 of: "Into the hands of America?"

Just to be clear if you do not answer Caggers questions so you can get the help you need without comments like above Caggers are not going to give  the advice you need to help if they are going to get a response like that.

If you do not take responsibility for this as the vehicle is impounded the cost will add up and if it ends up and I do only say ends up being scrapped just as an example only that add more costs which will not go away as they will come after you to pay these costs.

Have a good read of this Trading Standards Institute Advice link:

From the above link read the following:

Do you have the same protection when buying a car?
Mileage, service books and MOTs
Tax
Key Legislation

When you state new purchased car in your first post could you clarify the following:

1. Was this a Private Sale?

2. If it was a Private Sale was it in Person or via the Internet?

3. What Documents did you sign when you purchased the vehicle and do you have i.e. a Vehicle Bill of Sale (private seller) ?

4. If it was done via the internet did you take screenshots at all?

5. Did you do any checks on the vehicle before purchasing i.e. MOT history, Logbook, HPI Check
