Hi ,my name is Steve and I am new to the world of forums although I have been messing around with computers for a long time. I was searching the net for a company called Westcot and came acroos this site. After reading through it, i decided to join as I know I will need help in the near future. When I am more familiar with this site, I will post details of my problem. Thats enough waffling for now so once again, Hi to all..:)

Hi and welcome to the site,

:p

You've definately taken the first step into claiming back what's rightfully yours.

Spend time reading the FAQ's and the Step by Step guide as this will stop you making mistakes along the way. Use the letters and spreadsheets in the Templates Library as these have all been tried and tested in successful claims. Read as many threads as you can especially ones that relate to your bank. This is a SELF HELP site and won’t do the work involved for you. However, everything you need is on here somewhere.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions, no matter how stupid they may seem, but please remember that any advice that you receive is normally based on experience only and that you should seek expert advice if required.

Once you start the process of your claim remember to open a thread in the relative bank forum, this will enable you, and others helping you, to keep track of your claim.

All the best in your claim!!

Hi Steve,

I'm new round here too.

I was just having a mooch about reading posts n stuff and saw your message - so you've had the pleasure of dealing with Westcott too huh?

What a bunch...

We sent them 2 cheques (yes 2 cases with them - lucky us :() one which they cashed and one which they obv. lost and then turned it back on us saying we hadn't sent it - they both went in the same envelope with a covering letter and the requested info written on the back!!!

They also had us held in a queue for an hour then at 8pm (or whatever time they shut) switched the 'u are holding' message to a 'sorry the office is now closed' one!! :-o

Wow-zers!! Good luck with them tho and any subsequent claims you make as a result of this site.

Hi to you Save A Tree, I have the pleasure of looking forward to dealing with Wescot yet as my debt appears to have been sold on to them, but i am still waiting for them to contact me. Maybe I will get lucky and they may forget me. However on the serious side, I read somewhere on this site that debt collectors cannot chase me for a debt that is the result of penalty charges from my bank account. Do you know anything about this? Thanks for now.

Saabsteve.

Yes please read around the site including the bank forum and the debt/bailiffs forum to get some idea on this. If you have a debt that is made up of bank charges and have started to claim them back then you can tell the DCA that the amount is in dispute and to put the account on hold whilst you sort out your claim.

Please can you both start posting in the relevant bank forums if you're claiming charges and in the debt/bailiffs forum if it is purely a debt matter.

This makes it easier for us to help you. Cheers! :D
