I have settled all other debts ... other companies were actually quite civilised to deal with but I hate the company that gave me this ccj, they were awful bullies and although I have contemplated getting in touch for a settlement amount I really don't want to.  So my point being I'm trying to save for a deposit for a mortgage in a few years once  the ccj leaves my file.   Once the ccj expires will my credit still be bad if I haven't paid it off?

I think I read that if it's still unpaid it will be recorded on your file as being satisfied...which I read as the 6 years are up but the amount will still show as outstanding?  If this is the case will this still affect my credit rating?  Will it just show as a credit payments being made every month? I am paying monthly payments on it but will still have a few grand outstanding at the end. PB

a ccj does not 'expire' they just have 6yrs to enforce it, with little chance after that in court if they try.

which of your CCJ threads is this to do with, most you've never bothered to update us upon what actually happened after we gave you all the free advice......

as with defaulted debts, whereby the whole account is removed, CCJ's are removed after 6yrs from credit files, they don't show again and don't show as satisfied as they are not.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

Yes apologies, I was in a very bad place before and your help was incredible.  I will always be thankful for it.

Can I just clarify what you said though... even if the ccj isn't paid off at the end of the 6 years and I'm still making payments on it, it won't show on my credit file?
