Hi, helping a friend that has been paying Stepchange for around 8 years now and has another approx 4 years to go.

All the debts are no longer on their credit file, and they are:

Hoist Barclays Partner Finance £4,000

Lowell Finance £400

NCO Arrow £350

There were a couple more but they didn't have a CCA so closed the account.

They want to start their own one and try and clear via a F&F settlement

Before they close the stepchange account Is the Hoist one still with the OC? And if so how do we go about this regarding the CCA etc

hoist are a Debt buyer so cant still be with BPF

send each debt owner a CCA request

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

  • 7 months later...

Thanks,

We have problems with Lowell, firstly they are now reporting missed payments on the account that wasn't there before, so have SAR the OC to see if we can get a copy of the DN.

Secondly they are chasing for a minimal amount (under £50) on an 02 default, but on the credit file both 02 and Lowell are showing the default is this right or should only one be showing it?

Thanks again

Find out the dn dates.

The same debt being reported twice doesn't hurt you twice.

as for any silly monthly markers they will obv vanish with the whole a/c upon the dn's 6th b'day, no matter how many times the same debt shows

On the credit file, its now not showing a default date, no details of the original debt just fixed term deffered payment loan, the status is showing delinquent and now 6 missed payment.

Shouldn't this have been linked to the original debt

understood

a debt without a default notice is useless to a DCA as they cant enforce any judgement they might get without one.
