Morning all,  hope you are all keeping well and safe, thoughts please, a company called “capquest” sent me a text message on Sunday advising that I need to speak to them “about my debt”

i briefly looked online and it appears as they are a debt collecting agency which is very odd  - I am lucky that aside from my mortgage I have no other open/rolling debt.  I have paid off years ago the loan I had for the house refurbishment. No balances on credit card,  no defaults, no CCJs. Also  I have never dealt with Capquest.

are they scammers?

Have they just bought mobile numbers and they are changing it by sending text messages?

should this be reported?

Cheers

well check all the Credit  ref agencies just in case

but they don't know if its your phone nor that it works.

report the text to spam ....7726

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

As DX says, simply forward their text to 7726 (SPAM) on your phones keypad.

Yes they're a DCA, and yes they're thicker than a submarine door, this seems to be the latest trick used by bottom of the barrel DCA's, I had to give Lowell short shrift Saturday for doing the same thing.

Nothing to worry about....

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

It could also a recycled number issue, how long have you had that number?  If recently the number could have belonged to someone else who owed money sometime in the past and it was their contact number.  Was given a new work phone once, and the first call I had  on itwas from Rossendales bailiffs after someone for  Council tax debt.

We could do with some help from you.
