i would suggest the claim is now autostayed. it doesnt usually take mcol 20days to update they've received the claimants DQ and send yours out. but its not unheard of. but as said before, its typical of lowells to send out their proposed DQ and a begging letter almost immediately the defendant files their defence just to intimidate and harrasss. dx

Well it's up to you of course. But frankly, I think you should stand by your guns and insist on every last. Penny . You could call their bluff and tell them that you will decide about their offer once you have seen the contract as required by the court and if they won't supply the contract then you want all or nothing -

I'm sorry to hear about your father, it's always tough to lose a parent. I think there is a difference between an estate not owing inheritance tax on tranfers between spouses and having the right paperwork from the Probate Office. Other people know more than I do, about how it works with mirror wills, but when my OH were dealing with different estates, we found these people very helpful. It's backed by a firm of lawyers, but we were never under pressure to become clients. You should be able to ask your questions of them. Useful website too. /assets/static/images/logo/bac-logo-1280x720.jpg Bereavement Advice Centre | Free Helpline | Freephone 0800 634 9494 WWW.BEREAVEMENTADVICE.ORG We give practical information, advice and signposting on the many issues and procedures that face us after the death of someone close. In one estate that my OH dealt with, in theory there was no need for probate because of the size of the estate, but Abbey National wouldn't agree to transferring the mortgage without probate. HB -
