Hi,

I got a ticket last November 2009 and after reading the forums decided to ignore it and wait for the letter.

The letter arrived in January 2010 telling me that I have to pay the full price of the ticket.

I replied to the letter saying that I did not know who was driving the car on the day in question and that I was under no obligation to disclose the identity of the driver.

Then in April 2010 I received another letter saying that "The owner of the vehicle is liable for the penalty charge when a ticket is issued to a vehicle. The owner may or may not be the person who was actually driving at the time.

If you are the registered keeper, but were not driving when the parking charge was issued, you will need to transfer the liability to the driver within 10 days of the above date. Failure to do so will result in you remaining liable for the charge."

Any advice would be appreciated

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Thanks for posting that letter Zero, it is the funniest one I have ever seen. One other thing, they don't know who the owner is, they only have the registered keepers details. Wish it had been me that got that letter I would have so much fun with them.

regards

Just noticed further, it's from the, 'appeals department', I can't take any more my sides are hurting.

BTW ignore it unless you have the confidence to play with them.

Just spoken to 'Becky' at central ticketing to ask her about issuing 'Penalty Charges', I asked her under what legal authority central ticketing issued Penalty charges, she replied, 'The law that's what'.

I asked her how they know who the 'owner' of a vehicle is, she replied, 'we get the details from DVLA', I told her they only get the details of the registered keeper, her reply, 'what's the difference' tried to explian in law quite a lot, but she wouldn't listen.

I then asked her under what legal authority would I have to send central ticketing a confirmation letter from the DVLA to say I was no longer the registered keeper, she replied, 'the same law as before'.

I said then to sum up, 'I don't have to provide you with anything not even a response to your mickey mouse letters then?'

Well we'll see you in court then was her response, I said who will you be seeing, the driver, the registered keeper or the owner?

Becky hangs up.

I think Becky has left the building.

I imagine that "Becky" is some minimum-wage office junior with no more legal knowledge than our cat.

You should have asked to speak to Mr Squiggle from the "Appeals Department ".

Hi

I received two letters from Graham White, and a couple of phone calls unfortunately I have been unavailable when they called to speak to them directly.

I don't know how they got my number as it is ex directory and has always been that way from day one.

Just wondering about bailiffs am I right in understanding that they need to be authorised by a court (CCJ).

Never had any dealings with bailiffs that's why I ask.

Thanks

The will be no ccj

The will be no baliffs

You will just getting silly letters with lots of nasty threats and some phone calls.

Dont worry its all part of a [problem], targeting people who dont know thier rights.

Now you know they are [problematic] you can join one a growing group of people who will no longer be taken in.

How many forms have you filled in applying credit cards, loans, booked flights, taken out insurance policies etc etc - only requires one to selling peoples details on and you are on a database. Am certain one PPC is using one of these for recent car purchases

I got my first Roxburghs letter a week ago and a Graham White one today asking for over £200.

Tempted as I am to ring them up and blow a rasberry down the phone, I will simply take the advice of you lot on here and just ignore it.

If they do phone, I will simply tell them i'm happy to go to court.......in the knowledge that it wont get to that
