The Trespass response will go this afternoon.  My intention for the review is to calm down and put something together over the weekend that I can upload to a number of consumer sites.

Whoa BF. Be careful. You could be heading for sympathy.    H

Again, thanks for your help, busy week ahead.

Damp squib.  He decided against recovering windows.

Now it appears he doesn't want the windows back anymore, he just wants to move on!

If I email him with words to the effect of:-

Please confirm Abbey Windows (Thames Valley) Ltd accept the monies paid so far as full and final settlement of the contract.

Would this be sufficient for both sides to consider the contract complete?

As one of the two directors/owners is it reasonable to assume that James has the authority to make the decision alone?

Did he send you a message to this effect? Please can you post it up here

Incidentally, do not send the message which you have proposed above. Please let us see what they sent you first

So do you mean to say that you received this information over the telephone?

Which received the information over the telephone and emailed it to me.  I imagine it's fair to assume there is an element of interpretation.

I hope you appreciate how confusing this all is. I imagine that if I approached 100 people and asked them what you meant by the sentence which I have quoted above, they would all say that it meant the you had received an email from Which reciting the information which they (Which) had received from Abbey windows over the phone.

But you say that's wrong and you don't have an email

Yes, it is disappointing and it happens very often that we invest ourselves in other people's problems, give them support and advice and then people simply disappear without giving us any kind of update.

I'm afraid there's nothing much we can do about it but it has never stopped us continuing to offer help to anybody who needs it
