Cheque never received then got call from bank saying I have not cashed it.  i ask them to resend it then they say the case is closed.  This is theft or a mistake.

why has it take you till today to ask for help?

 

regardless to it being a PPI refund, a non cashed cheque can simply be re-issued by the Payee, all they have to do is check it never got cashed, nothing to do with PPI any PPI case now closed or otherwise

This is explaining the post in more detail the post on a few hours ago. 

 

A PPI claim was made last year.  The bank called a couple of weeks ago to state that they have noticed that I had not cashed the cheque sent and stated the amount of that cheque.  I made an independent call to the bank to confirm this was correct as there are a lot of scammers and was told that the cheque would be processed and sent.  A few days later received a confusing letter to say the case is closed as if a company was undertaking the claim for me. 

 

Can a bank get out of not reissuing the cheque if they state that one was already issued.  Is this a scam or is the banks way of not honouring the cheque.  Not sure that I can mention the bank but it is one of the four traditional main high street banks.

Please will you tell us the name of the bank, and also the value of the claim.

It might be interesting to know a few more details about the PPI – to make sure that you haven't been shortchanged.

Did you make this claim directly – yourself? Or did you use some claim management company?

I think should start by sending an SAR to the bank. Do it today

PPI Claim 1.    This is a response to ppi claim where the bank called regarding a cheque they issued was not cashed.  The question of the name of the bank.  It is Lloyds bank and the amount was just over £7000.

Also, have you calculated that the PPI figure is correct? What does this relate to? When was the PPI paid? Have they correctly added the 8% per annum onto the amount of money that they took from you.

Also, I'm trying to understand. Are you saying that they sent you a cheque which you received that you didn't cash it in because you are worried about scammers? It's not entirely clear from your post
