Yes they are

Tried to locate a specific place but map couldn't find them and there is no one that regulates their financial  conduct so I can file a dispute no website just an email and noone answers the phone

Is there any information on this matter I have posted in regards to Carwood accountants posing as working with HMRC that is backing them as a tax awareness LTD that has used my signature on forms I have never seen based on one document I signed and trying to say I am bound to this agreement which I never read or verbally agreed to

Seen some post on there actions towards others on Google but no one is willing to tackle it just complaints I have reported the matter to the FCA and other financial bodies such as the chartered institute to get a outline on this issue

I don't know if you've seen their Google reviews, most of them are pretty bad and people have had the same experience as you. They get 1.5 out of 5, but that isn't what you need to know at this stage.

Can you tell us what you signed with them please?

I saw that they don't have a website too. If they're proper accountants they should be regulated by the ICAEW, but it should also say on their correspondence with you.

https://www.icaew.com/

We would still like to know what agreement you signed with them please.

Well it's the fact of life they said they are in their rights I quote them and if they have the recording of the conversation I had with the HMRC rep.they said they have been working with them for sometime and no one I quote again NO ONE! stopped to think how can this be right 1st by human rights and LEGALLY!!

It sounds similar to claims companies who do something that you could do yourself. The problem seems to be that you signed an agreement with them. Other people know more about legalities than I do, hopefully they will comment.

Their Ts and Cs don't say who regulates them which is odd. As I said, proper accountants are with the ICAEW or possibly another organisation.

You might want to edit the last page of your pdf because I can read your details. You could put a piece of paper over your signature, etc.

Here's an article about tax claim firms.

https://www.litrg.org.uk/tax-guides/tax-basics/how-do-i-claim-tax-back/should-i-use-tax-refund-company

ETA: This looks important to me from the article above. I also read in Carwoods Ts and Cs that they will automatically submit a claim for you every year unless you tell them to stop.

Data protection: possible concerns

You may be asked to sign a form 64-8 authority, or give some other form of authority (such as a refund deed of assignment – more on this below). The 64-8 gives HMRC the authority to correspond with the tax refund organisation about your tax affairs. A refund deed of assignment means that your refund will be paid to the tax refund organisation in the first instance, so they can take their fee (more on this below).

As a result of signing authorities like this, you may find that the refund company continues to receive correspondence about you or other tax refunds due to you, if you do not take steps to remove the authority after you have used the organisation’s services.

from that above link...

What are tax refund companies?

Tax refund companies, or tax refund organisations, are businesses that specialise in offering services to help you submit a tax repayment claim. They charge for these services. Tax refund organisations often operate online. Sometimes they partner with employers and unions who refer workers to their services (for a commission).

Websites for tax refund organisations often use headlines to catch your attention, for example, suggesting that you might be due a large amount of money from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and that they can make claiming a refund easy for you.

Some organisations also indicate that they are ‘HMRC approved agents’, however using such a company does not mean that things will be ‘sped up’ as HMRC deal with refund processing on a first-come first-served basis.

Most tax refund organisations charge a minimum fee and this can reduce or eliminate the benefit of making a claim for a tax repayment, depending on the amount of tax involved.

However, often, it is straightforward to make a claim for a tax repayment, and you can make the claim yourself at little or no cost.
