I recently sold an item on eBay, which I sent via Hermes. I declared the value at £230 (the sale value). I did not select the additional cover. The parcel never arrived. After a lot of effort, Hermes have finally accepted fault and have sent me a refund of £20 +£8.88 postage.

I am not super happy about this outcome, and would like to pursue the true value. I have read around on the forum for how to proceed, and I am fairly sure I will have to threaten legal action, and then presumably take it if I hear nothing. I am however a little unsure of how best to do this.

I am based in Scotland, and posted the item in Scotland to England. Does this change any of the regular advice on this forum in regards to where I file the claim?

Thanks in advance!
