Hello. I got a letter this morning from Barclaycard. It says

We have review the way we calculate customers interest payments and credit limits. It's higher than it should have been at that time. We're refunding you (about £350).

It then goes on to say

You don't need to do anything because we aren't going to send the refund to you, we're going to send it to (debt collection agency)

Obviously the account is in default and has been bought by a DCA. I still don't think this on, because they have admitted they have done wrong, it's their fault the it went wrong. I'm trying to get the whole lot forgotten about. Can you suggest anything I can say to them to refund to me, not the DCA. I know I might not have a leg to stand on, but I think it's really bad.

Thank you.

yes but the charges/interest are notional, as a balance is still outstanding, why should you get the money when effectively you've not paid them..

are you paying the DCA?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
