Hi,

I recently purchased a TV from Very with a bnpl.

I have had the tv about 3 weeks and used it but have discovered it does not have the features advertised.

Vrr is something I specifically purchased it for but have had confirmation that it does not have this feature.

It clearly states it has this feature but it does not.

I have heard Very is Very difficult to deal with.

I would like to know what my options are before I start a dialogue with them.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

unfit for purpose under the consumer rights act. CRA

you are within 30days so they can't argue a complete refund.

do not use the phone or email without RECORDING your call.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thought recordings were useless without consent?

Anyway thanks I'll try just they have some clauses to do with open returns and have read they are difficult.

Just want to be prepared before call.

1.old wives tale...

2. an online sale automatically gives you 14 days to use and view the product as you could not do so in person like in a shop and return it for NO reason at all.

as with any product, however purchased.. should it be discovered once it is in your possession....within 30 days... to be faulty or not as described or not fit for purpose you can return it for a full no quibble refund .

..they have NO clauses nor can they have...against a clear case not as description rendering it 'not fit for purpose' within 30days. end off.

Read our customer services guide. This is essential.

Make sure that before you call you have got the information to hand – which means the advertisement which claims all the features – and the evidence which counters this and shows that the television doesn't have the features.

At the end of the call, confirm in writing.

You are entitled to have a TV set which matches its description and regardless of the results of the phone call, you should write to them and put them on notice immediately – by means of a recorded delivery letter and also an email saying that you are rejecting the television on the basis that it does not match its description.

I'm not sure what a "BNPL" but I'm assuming that you bought this TV online and on that basis it was sold by description and according to you it doesn't conform to its description.

Come back here when you have had your conversation and also when you have sent these messages off to them.

Also, it would be helpful if you would post up the advertisement – maybe highlighting the features that you are particularly relying upon and also the evidence – maybe the specifications which show that these features are missing.

doesn't make any diff

it could be a free gift you paid nothing for or a discounted item...makes no odds..CRA is clear.

  • 1 month later...

I found Very surprisingly easy to deal with the couple of times I had issues. The second time was a TV, it developed a fault after a year. Manufacturer was not responding to my warranty request, so I went back to Very for help, who arranged for the TV to be collected. I assumed they would help me out with the manufacturer warranty, but lo and behold a full refund appeared in my account. Maybe I got lucky, but its not the only time I found them to be more than helpful.

EDIT: just noticed this thread is a month old. How did you get on op?
