I literally feel your pain , I am in a similar situation with my tax credit claim, except I havent eaten for nearly 2 weeks and I'm at the doctors with anxiety

Hi stresshead. Please do not stress, I got it sorted very quickly and easily, felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders. The lady on the phone was absolutely lovely, im still waiting for the amount I owe but she stressed that I only pay what I can afford:)

Honestly I'm falling apart,  I'm so scared!

 

I had the same letter and I Helped my ex partner in April last year, while he was between Homes, 

I let him stay in my out house which is my office, its fully function heating lighting and tele the lot.

 

Then his dad died and he was jn a really bad way.

I honestly thought he might do something daft, so was let him move in. 

 

Then.lock down happened and no one could move or goto other houses.

But thank god he was there because I went under then.

 

I'm in the middle of sending all my info in they want , I have already stopped my claim.

I'm literally a mess, chest pains, panic attacks cant breath the lot!

I admitted everything from the date i moved in.

I thought they might have chosen those dates to try and catch people out and id be more in trouble if I got caught lying.

Its awful isn't it,  I've just gathered up everything from April to July 19 that they was to see , bills ect. Im so stressed

Hi its the thought of someone going through my personal business,  why do they need to see my bank statements?

How long has it been since they last spoken to you? And have they sent you a joint claim pack out after stopping your single claim?

It’s been 2 weeks I think.

Did he apply for credit from your address at that time?

They said he applied for credit accounts at my address in those 4 months

I had a compliance letter stating my ex had used my address for credit between April and July 19.

I rang the tax office and brought it forward.

 

I spoke to a really nice lady and she asked if he was there, I completely crumbled as it dawned on my I hadn't changed my claim to a joint!!!!!

 

Lots of things have happened in 2019 his dad died in suspicious circumstances,  court case, then march lock down!!!! Everything just got onto of me!!!!

 

I told them he didn't live her out of panic, then rang up and said he did and stopped stopped my claim.

I told them it was temp at first because he was between homes so I did let him use my out house which is massive as a bed room for a few weeks ( its like an extra home, my dad built it for me).

 

The lady said I will update your claim just write in and explain.

Funny enough Iv just had a letter come through...

saying I owe £8000 for the dates 8/05/2019-8/05/2019??
