Arc chasing for Bannatyne

Signed up with bannatyne back in September 2019.

They emailed out about freezing memberships when Covid started which in response I cancelled my DD (it did state not to do this) and then contacted them to cancel my membership which I was told is fine.

 

Today I received an email from arc stating I owe 141.68.

I have had no contact from bannatynes since verbally cancelling my membership to say I was outstanding and this is the first I have heard from them regarding owing any kind of fee.

 

I spoke to a member of staff over the phone in store who said that head office sends emails and sms to members who fail to pay Which I have not received any of. The member of staff also said bannatyne staff would call members for their club however they may not have due to having so many members to contact which I said was ridiculous especially when regarding outstanding fees, as I have also had 0 phone calls.

 

I’ve been told that I can either pay 3 months outstanding which is 150 pound and continue my membership for another 4 months.

Or resign for another 12 month contract.

 

Please help as I don’t want to do either but also don’t want any issues with debt collectors due to currently looking into getting a mortgage.

Hey dx 

 

I would just like to close the issue with bannatyne and have the membership cancelled

 I no longer want to use the gym and if I could get help with that I’d really appreciate it,  thanks
