I already had contacted the Halifax with regards to obtaining copies of my statements before I joined the site.

I contacted them by phone, paid £5 and my statements arrived 8 days later.

My statements provided interesting reading as it showed I had been charged "interest debited" on certain months even though my account had been in credit for months??

I sent the preliminary approach letter yesterday but was unsure if I did the right thing at this point as I have not gone through the DPA letter stage.

Can anyone please tell me if this will cause complications?

If you have all your statements, you are ready to start your claim. If you have any more charges, before your claim goes to court, you can add them on.

If you have any problems or if you are not sure about things, update your thread, this way someone will keep you on the right track.

Good Luck with Your Claim

As I addressed my letter to my branch got letter today saying it is being passed to the Customer Relations department who will contact me shortly with a full responce.

Should I give them any extra time to compile a responce or just wait the 14 days from my first letter?
