Hi, I hope someone can help with some information/advice please.

A couple of years ago I got into financial trouble; stress, depression, divorce, gambling, amongst other things.  I had a debt with MBNA that I'd put on hold as was unable to pay (£6538.12).

After my divorce I changed address and moved to parents as had to sort myself out mentally and physically - which I'm happy to say I am now much better.  I recently started receiving letters from Credit Security Ltd who say they've been instructed by MBNA to recover the money (which I know I owe).  They say if I don't pay/contact them they will pass my debt to a Debt Collection Agency, start visiting my (parents') home and add more costs on for recovering the debt.

My questions are:

- should I deal with them or with MBNA directly

- should I offer a settlement sum (and if so, what percentage of the debt would be a good starting point)

- can they add additional costs/pass my debt onto a more ruthless agency

- any other advice please

Thanks in advance!

Who are CSL's stated clients?

You ignore any dca - they are not BAILIFFS

And have

ZERO legal powers on any debt - no matter what it's type

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Ignore.

It's like that scene in Enter the Dragon, when Bruce Lee does the 'art of fighting without fighting'.

the debt buyer has to jump through lots of enforceability hoops to even think about further action.
