Hi Everyone, its been a while since I posted on here (maybe that's a good thing).

Last week I purchased an outboard motor online from a company called Solent Boat Sales on the Isle of Wight.

They had a good website and seemed very efficient at the time.

They made an appointment to come and deliver the motor, which was arranged via the same email address that the invoice came from ([email protected]).

The appointment time came and went with no one showing up, and no contact from them.

I tried to call them, but the message just said "Solent boat sales is currently unavailable".

I tried to call the mobile number that I had spoken to the vendor on, and it said that the phone was switched off.

This has been the case for the last three days now, and my emails are going unanswered.

I am worried that I have been the victim of an elaborate fraud after paying by bank transfer.

Can anyone offer me some advice as to what my next move should be please?

ask your bank to reverse the payment.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I don't think that this is them. The name of the person i dealt with was Phillip R Torrance. They were in Sandown on the Isle of Wight as well.

You cant...certain banks have agreed to add a limited protection but only for genuine errors which must be acted upon within 2/3/ days ....not disputed purchases like section 75 claims or chargebacks.

We could do with some help from you.

Well. The good news is that Barclays are confident that they can recover the money. Free Ads have been fantastic and actually sent someone over the the Isle of Wight to go to the address given. They are speaking to Action Fraud as well to give them information on adverts that they have found on other sites for the same item (amounts others). The only issue I have now is, do I make an allegation of theft directly to the police? I guess that this would be "obtaining money by deception".

no such beast any more.

There is, however, fraud by false representation, contrary to S2 of the Fraud Act 2006

Excellent thank you.

Do you think I should report him to the Police now?
