I am sure you are very clever.

The entire republican party is corrupt to the core.   We have out issues with our parties here, but damn, the states is basically a clusterf***.  Trumps been c[aught lying, commiting illegal activitie

...and wee Nicola says Trump going to Scotland isn't essential travel and wouldn't be let in.   'Sturgeon said she wasn't clear on the president's travel plans but hoped his immediate travel

It’s interesting so I started working for a US based company back in mid 2015, they flew me over to Connecticut head office to get trained up. There was a lot of love for Trump from everyone on my team. He’s different he’s a good businessman, he’ll be tough on Russia Etc. Then as Hillary became the Challenger, I was over for the sales kick off, the sentiment was ‘anyone but Hillary’. So I kind of understand how he got elected in the first place. But it’s unbelievable to me how he got 70 million votes Second time round after the way he handled the pandemic !

We could do with some help from you.

The Guardian has a politics sketch about the parallel press conferences yesterday by Trump and Biden. I love this line on Operation Warp Speed. 'Cable news viewers went through the wormhole at 2pm on Tuesday: two captains, two crews, two languages (one English, the other Klingon).'

Thank you, TJ, I hadn't seen that. Life would be a lot easier for Biden if his party can win these, obviously.

Has the Orange One accepted that the electors declared a majority for Biden yesterday?

Nope, But Barr resigned

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/dec/14/william-barr-out-attorney-general-donald-trump

and I think despite all the pardons Trump is brandishing, this will come back to haunt him:

"In the weeks before the 2020 election, Trump publicly berated his attorney general for not prosecuting the president’s political enemies, among them his Democratic opponent and his predecessor, Barack Obama. In an October interview, Trump said Barr would be remembered as a “very sad, sad situation” if he did not indict Biden or Obama."

Well, Barr finally stood up for justice IMO when he refused to say the election was fraudulent. Possibly Barr is looking to have a legal career after the White House, although it seems a bit late to start appearing virtuous.

So many similarities between the Trump and Johnson regimes

Although the UK versions are more likely to get away with it scott free - lets hope Biden sets some examples

So seems its confirmed as Russian hacks not Chinese to everyone except Trump

Interesting that it seems it was yet again Solarwinds as the entry mechanism.

(I've used Solarwinds .. legitimately)

An unbelievable recording has emerged of Trump trying to bully/cajole/threaten the Georgia secretary of state into changing the result of the state's election so Trump can win it. Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame has called it a smoking gun.

Horrendous as that is, Trump setting and maintaining a precedence of obstructing the smooth handover of power is undermining the whole American democratic process

That would be interesting, TJ, I hadn't thought of a criminal investigation.

Such a shame it isn't going well for him with debt problems in his businesses and the south New York prosecutors digging into his financial affairs. And the neighbours at Mar-a-Largo saying there's a covenant that stipulates he can't live there more than a few weeks a year...

I'm sure its unfounded,

but fled the country and seeking political asylum is being bandied

Perhaps thinks if the UK wont extradite Assange, if he claims he will kill himself if he's extradited he will get to stay on his golf course which is losing money hand over fist

.. fastest extradition in history if it was up to Nicola perhaps?

If it was up to wee Nicola, I don't think she'd let him off the plane. :)  With all the legal stuff going on, he might want somewhere that doesn't extradite to the US.

Rumored Trump Trip to Scottish Golf Course Ruled Out of Bounds

"Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s first minister, said that under newly imposed virus restrictions, which prohibit all but essential travel, a visit by the president to one of his Scottish golf resorts, Trump Turnberry, would not be acceptable."
