Took out a loan 15yrs ago from swift advances had a bit of health trouble just after I took it out and missed a few payment,,,this attracted intrest but to

 

cut a long story short the term will be up in January

they informed me that I will still owe £10,000

they're  happy to let me continue paying monthly

but is there anything I could do to get this reduced or even cleared.

send them an sar and get all the statements.

bet the outstanding is all unlawful fixed sum penalty fees that can be reclaimed

You’ve been paying for 15 years  and still owe 10k?

 

Definitely the first course of action is an SAR. Need to get to the bottom of that.

Was this an interest only loan do you know ?  I cannot believe you racked up £10,000 worth of missed payments / extra added interest !!

with their int rate you have £1000's there to reclaim.

 

just looking at the 1st page

nearly every listing under the debit col is a penalty charge and £250!! for a default charge!

what!!

the only things i can see you can't reclaim is the returned direct debit whereby the figure is the same sum as the direct debit (234.48)

If I am reading that pdf correctly you were charged over £150.00 for just one missed payment, along with associated interest and admin charges ?
