    • I have been living with my partner since 2013. But after the birth of our son in 2014 things became unstuck. We were living together but I was making plans to move out, even viewed properties etc and therefore began claiming CTC and WTC to ensure that I could afford to go it alone. Eventually we worked it out but it has been on and off for years. In addition to this, I was in a lot of debt, had lost my job and knew that (selfishly) I needed the tax credits to keep my head above water.  My partner has no idea that I was claiming and if he finds this out he will leave me for sure. The house, the bills, everything is in his name. I work but I dont make enough money to contribute to the house as well as pay all my existing debts (my partner doesn’t know about half of these either). I  once had a bailiff call at the house and I had to tell him about it. He was so angry and mortified (as was I) and I just feel like I am bringing so much shame onto our family. I have been living this lie for 6 years and I couldn’t find a way out of it. I know I have made a huge mistake. I just want to pay it back and try to move on from it. I’m worried that I will have to go to court, prison, or they will want to speak to my partner about it. I really don’t want him to know about this because it’s so shameful. From my estimations it could be between 28-30K. I have absolutely no idea how I will pay it back, as we wouldn’t be able to claim any further credits as a joint claim because he earns too much money.  I haven’t eaten or slept in days. I feel physically sick and I just can’t cope with the guilt and humiliation. I did make false claims and now I’m worried I will pay the ultimate price and lose everything I have.
    • Hi All,   Hoping for a little help and advice please.   This company Link Financial are chasing me for a debt that I had as a credit card with Royal Bank of Scotland. Out of the blue and having no correspondence from RBS a few year back this company claimed I now owed them the sum of money. I have written in response stating I do not acknowledge any debt to Link financial and asked them to supply evidence of liability. I also requested a true copy of the alleged agreement, a full statement of account, a signed true copy of assignment and any other documents referred to in the agreement. I also enclosed  a £1 payment for the credit agreement request and clearly stated that this £1 payment under no circumstances should be set aside for any alleged debt and if the documentation can't be supplied the fee should be returned.   Link's response was just a small statement of account with credit agreement number, account number (same as the RBS number), date of agreement and transaction sheet where they had taken the £1 fee off the debt value after I asked them not to. There was no true copy of assignment, true copy of alleged agreement or evidence of liability.   For reference, In 2009 my debts started to mount after my wife I had lost a child and we weren't at work for months, so ended up paying the mortgage on a credit card. Eventually it got too much and the RBS took me to county court in 2011 where I received a CCJ and then RBS was granted a charging order on my property which is in my name only. I was ordered to pay a monthly fee.    I received my first letter from Link in 2016 just stating, we have not written to you in some time as we have had to locate your address. We would like to discuss your intentions regarding the outstanding balance on  your account. I had no correspondence from RBS about this so I thought this was a scam company.  Unbeknown to me I also realised the monthly payment to the RBS had stopped being taken directly from my account.   After a few letters backwards and forwards about me disputing Link and this debt today 26th February 2021 I have now received another letter from Link stating. As you are aware a charging order on the beneficial interest you have in the property at.........has been secured. They are now seeking payment and will accept monthly payments on the account in accordance with my current financial situation. If I chose not to settle in full or fail to complete and return the form below or contact them within 7 days they will take further legal recovery action. There is a little boxed section at the bottom monthly or weekly payments for me to fill in and send off.   I'm really at my wits end now of what to do next. I have two years left on my mortgage and finding it really hard to get through that two year financially, especially since this pandemic has really hit home money wise. The last thing I need is the family home to be taken away especially with a 10 year old in the home.    I really appreciate any help and guidance. Thank you.

    • i thought that was the point of mediation, to show them that you think they havent got a case to go to court with? I realise you know far more about this type of thing than i do though, but i thought that not fulfilling the CCA properly - ie by not supplying t&c - was an automatic fail at court for them.   I dont know what to do now -   @Andyorchcan i have your thoughts too please   the hassle just makes you feel like giving in to them

    • Hi @BankFodder
Sorry for only updating you now, but after your guidance with submitting the claim it was pretty straight forward and I didn't want to unnecessarily waste your time. Especially with this guide you wrote here, so many thanks for that
So I issued the claim on day 15 and they requested more time to respond.
They took until the last day to respond and denied the claim, unsurprisingly saying my contract was with Packlink and not with them.
I opted for mediation, and it played out very similarly to other people's experiences.
In the first call I outlined my case, and I referred to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 as the reason to why I do in fact have a contract with them.
In the second call the mediator came back with an offer of the full amount of the phone and postage £146.93, but not the court costs. I said I was not willing to accept this and the mediator came across as a bit irritated that I would not accept this and said I should be flexible. I insisted that the law was on my side and I was willing to take them to court. The mediator went back to Hermes with what I said.
In the third call the mediator said that they would offer the full amount. However, he said that Hermes still thought that I should have taken the case against Packlink instead, and that they would try to recover the court costs themselves from Packlink.
To be fair to them, if Packlink wasn't based in Spain I would've made the claim against them instead. But since they are overseas and the law lets me take action against Hermes directly, it's the best way of trying to recover the money.
So this is a great win. Thank you so much for your help and all of the resources available on this site. It has helped me so much especially as someone who does not know anything about making money claims.
Many thanks, stay safe and have a good Christmas!

My father went to his gp surgery late 2017 to ask for overseas vaccinations for the middle east, the surgery was too busy, they told him go to the local chemist shop to ask them for the vacinnation. My father went to the chemist after leaving the gp surgery explained he was going to the middle east for 2 weeks and instead of giving my father the correct vaccination for the middle east the chemist shop gave my father the flu jab which has caused incredible problems

My father returned home explained what happened, I was angry the chemist did this but at the time it was winter so I thought maybe thats why they gave the flu injection but in the back of my mind I was angry.

In the same week a few days later my father abroad and ended up getting serously ill a few days into his holiday, got taken to a hospital for a few days put on a drip

On his return back to the UK the same day he arrived it was obvious he was unwell so I made an out of hours appointment for him, where he was giving antibiotics.

A few days after his return to the UK it became obvious that something had happened to him mentally as he would now swear now and again for no obvious reason.

I did at the time think it maybe it was something to do with the flu jab he had received from the chemist a few days before flying out of the uk to holiday as lots of people have become ill 7-10 days after taking the flu jab (my father got ill within 7 days of his holiday) and it can cause mental problems in elderly people

My father was 100% before taking the flu jab

This has now unfortunately developed to dementia

I want to ask will the chemist shop have a record of the injection they gave my father if i ask them? they should shouldn't they, I mean you can't just walk into a chemist shop ask for holiday vaccinations and the chemist give you the flu jab instead?

Surely they has to be a something documented and a procedure in place to have everything docuemented and cctv of the day?

I have to admit that I'm sceptical about vaccinations causing other conditions, but I'm happy to be corrected.

Have you taken this up with anybody since 2017 please?

i've not taken this up with anybody since late 2017 when this happened but with the forums help i intend to

my father was good health before taking the flu jab only after taking the flu jab did he get ill a few days into his holiday in hospital and when he came back he was mentally not the same

This is what I have found online on flu jabs they contain several suspect ingredients, including the carcinogen formaldehyde, and many contain mercury in the form of thimerosal.

how should I go writing a letter to the chemist to ask for a record of what injection they gave my father in 2017 and if they come back claiming there is no record then what?

  • dx100uk changed the title to 2017 Father wanted holiday vaccinations from GP - closed - went to chemist - given flu jab - 3yrs later father has dementia

Both my parents had dementia in their later years, my mother with Alzheimer's, my father with frontotemporal lobe dementia. It upset me enormously to see how it changed them. I joined dementia support groups and learnt quite a lot about dementia. And one thing I am sure about is that dementia is not caused by flu jabs. There is simply no known connection and reading internet posts about flu jabs containing formaldehyde is just going to frustrate you with theories that are nonsense. Nothing in the link you posted about flu jabs says anything about flu jabs causing dementia.

I expect someone here can advise you how to find out from the chemist what flu jab they gave to your father. But why, how will it help you to know that? Whatever the chemist did it didn't cause your father to get dementia.

Sorry to be blunt, but as someone who has been there with parents who got dementia my advice to you is to stop trying to find out "who gave my father dementia" and focus on how you are going to support him. No-one "gave" your father dementia. That isn't how dementia happens.

Your father went to the chemist, explained that he was going to XXXXXX in the Middle East, and asked the chemist to give him whatever the required vaccinations are for such a journey (because his GP was too busy) and instead, the chemist gave him a 'flu' jab?

How does your father know this?

Did the chemist say "Sorry - I haven't got the required jabs for XXXXXX, but I'll give you a 'flu' jab instead."

Why didn't your father say "No.  I don't want a 'flu' jab.  I want a travel vaccination for XXXXXX in the Middle East"?

Sorry if I sound sceptical, but I'm a former NHS manager and I find it difficult to believe that a registered pharmacist in the community would do that.

Of course if they had, I'd be complaining to their professional body.  And if they injected your father with a 'flu' jab without his consent, I'd say they'd committed an assault.

Concerning any links between 'flu' jabs and dementia, I'm afraid I know nothing.

EDIT  Cross-posted with Ethel Street.  I too find it difficult to believe there's any connection - otherwise we wouldn't be advising older people to get a 'flu' jab, would we?

looking back on at least one of the threads, one of the usernames (LW) had been posting on a thread (L’s thread about their grandmother, with initial events in 2014, first raised in 2017, but with no sign of anything being done....) as if they were a different person.

In all the linked one’s I recall, the OP would give masses of details, and ask for CAG to write a letter for them, but not actually draft a letter themselves despite any / all input.

Shocked, I am, I can tell you .....

OP, do we know what the NHS has done to you (so that you can sue, or write a letter of complaint), that has caused you to develop this multiple personality disorder?

Have you (or has anyone else) ever seen Layla, lilywhite and Purpleflowers together at the same time? 😜

  • 2 weeks later...

It’s all a bit unusual really. Firstly, vaccines haven’t used thimerosal since at the latest 2011 https://fullfact.org/online/thiomersal-mercury-vaccines/

Again, we’re several years down the track with another matter involving another person making, to my mind, the third such complaint from Layla/PF.

I’m interested to learn more about how OP feels they’ve been able to pin down a vaccination as the sole cause of their father’s ill health and not the countless other potential causes.

All the advice that could possibly be given about actually making a complaint is there on the other two threads so I don’t hold out much hope that this one won’t go the same way I’m afraid.

“Unusual” is charitable, at best, given Lillywhite replying to Layla as if they were a 3rd party ....... and not the same person.

  • 2 weeks later...

can you say what the serious illness he contracted abroad was?

Antibiotics deal with bacterial infections, not viruses and the immune reaction some people get after a flu jab can never be described as "getting ill"

I think you have managed to conflate 2 totally separate things into a third problem.

Also, you have no right to ask the doctors or chemist anything, patient confidentiality comes into play unless you want to get a lawyer to start the paperwork to make your father a ward of the court of protection and then get them to allow you to be his representative you will continue quite correctly to be rebuffed..

It’s sad really, there’s some stuff going on here - whether it’s a very elaborate and long-play trolling/catfish attempt or there’s something less pleasant. I hope the OP, whoever they may be finds peace.
