Cabot/Tesco - refund from Tesco I'm dubious about

Recommended Posts

old Tesco CC debt been with Cabot for several years, it's for just over a grand,

Statute Barred should be on 14th December this year,

heard nothing from them for a year or two...

yesterday out of the blue I get a communication which appears to be from Tescobank,

Tescobank header, looks legit all the way through,

with a cheque for rather less than a couple of tenners attached saying they got their sums wrong all those years ago (it was taken out in 2002) and they owe me a refund.

How timely, I think...

I'm assuming this is an attempt to get me to cash the cheque and thus make the account come live again.

Is this something they do?

I won't be cashing it.

nothing that can harm you by cashing it

doesn't ack the debt at all.

enjoy the windfall....

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

if everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's tomorrow

the biggest financial industry in the UK, DCA;s would collapse overnight.

Certain things banks have to do are spearate from the debt so cashing the cheque doesnt move or restart the debt clock.

When they have been found to apply unlawful fees etc they cant even use the money to balance against the debt.

Its your money so stop thinking it is a trick
