Old Halifax OD Account - Hoist rejecting settlement Settlement offers

Recommended Posts

I had an old Halifax overdraft account that was sold to Hoist or assigned

this account is over 6 years old

I offered £100 to full and final partial settlement

they rejected that without advising me.

then I have offered a further offer although they send me a reply to a complaint saying that they would not accept anything under £600

what do you suggest as the debt is only just under £800

I have advised them and moorcoft that no further payments will be made to them

I have been in an token plan payment arrangement of £1 a month with them for some time on advise from stepchange

not sure what to do next

am a full time carer on benefit and also health conditions

what do they expect from me any help would be kindly appreciated.

Stepchange want shooting!!

all that £1pcm had done is keep running the statute barred date to infin8ty!!!

stop blindly paying a powerless DCA

they are not BAILIFF s

and have

zERO legal powers on ANY debt

what other debts are you blindly paying??

Dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

if everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's tomorrow

the biggest financial industry in the UK, DCA;s would collapse overnight.

I have cancelled payments to all of them now and also the default date is 6 years this September so will fall off my credit file as I have advised them I just dont want bailffs or the chance of them taking me to court.

bailiffs?? not without winning in court 1st and then the judge agreeing so....

and you losing is vary rare on an OD AC that is most probable YEARS old and full of old unlawful penalty fees and their interest.

why do you think Halifax sold it on for < 10p=£1...not a chance...
