old Napier PCN - now discount letter from Bwlegal - Have moved since

I have received a letter from bwlegal saying I have to pay some amount.

 

now the parking offence I have allegedly committed is from 3 or 4 years ago.

Obviously I do not remember a parking offence from that long ago if I have committed one, Although I always pay a lot of attention when I park.

 

they don't mention the location other than it happened in a certain town (that how I know it is from at least 3 years ago, since I used to live in that town 3 years ago).

they have not provided any evidence about the offence.

 

I have attached a photo of the letter. any advice is a appreciated.

Hello and welcome to CAG.

 

It's what we call a threatogram from solicitors who try to make money out of this sort of thing. They seem to be dredging up older cases these days.

 

Their client is Napier Parking so it isn't a local authority car park, I've edited your title to show that.

 

I can't see any reason to do anything at this stage. If ever you get a Letter Before Action/Claim or a claim form from a court, we can tell you what to do at that stage.

Yes, I have moved. and no, I have not personally updated them with my new address.

you need to respond in some manner else you'll get a backdoor CCJ that you'll know nothing about

that's why they have sent the phishing letter to see if you'll respond...

they issue a claim to your old address?

 

you did ofcourse update everyone on your credit file too

 that claims you owe money on anything you had credit wise that you ran away from that your might have use/paid within the last 7yrs too?

poss might just be best to go on their online portal to simply update your address but not enter into any repayment plan?
I wonder if you can do that??

or else simply write in ref to the PCN NO. to napier telling them of your correct address

Just to clarify, They have sent the letter to my new address. so wouldn't Napier already have my new address?

Just an FYI... Look at the Credit Reporting Section on that letter... 

When was a Parking Fine 

 

Whoops - I meant Speculative Parking Invoice! Whenever did a parking fine ever register on a CRA (Unless its subject to a CCJ after 28 days of judgement) 

I would be looking to put in a complaint after this is resolved... They are frightening you and many others.

So how about this? I go to their website, say that I need to see evidence of the "offence". but not pay until they provide that? and if they can't provide that then I don't pay since I genuinely don't remember. could they eventually take me to court or do something that adversely affects my credit?

just send napier a letter refs the PCN no. stating you now live at.

the fact that BW raided your credit file to get you new address is IMMATERIAL, to YOU legally informing their client in writing.

 

same with ANY other debts as I said.

If YOU don't update detals as explained by DX, they might well try a Claim at your old address very naughty and could be set aside probably, but in that circumstance the fleecers would rely on a victim paying the CCJ without question.

You write a letter on  paper denying any debt is owed to their clients and your current address is the one that shall be used for the service of documents if they are stupid enough to wnat to lose money by suing you ( use those words)

 

You do not email them, use their online forms or phone them
