Yes I believe it is correct that you can take a second job while being furloughed by a first employers.  This is subject to

1) The contract of employment with first/main employers allows for a second job to be taken. There may be restrictions to prevent conflicts of interest.

2) Must be available to first/main employers if they stopped the furloughed period and re-opened their businesses or wanted employees to undertake training courses.

3) Before they employ you, any employers should check your availablility and for any issues. So if this is a second job, then the issue of possibly being called back to work by the first/main employers might be raised.

We could do with some help from you.

Record numbers of people in the UK are looking for farming jobs, according to figures released by job search engines.

Totaljobs says it has seen 50,000 searches for farming jobs in the past week alone.

Steve Warnham of Totaljobs said workers “who have been temporarily displaced due to Covid-19 are now looking for roles in other sectors”.

The UK faces a shortage of fruit and vegetable pickers because of travel restrictions on overseas workers.
