Coronavirus: Nurses' Wetherspoon's parking fines overturned

Nurses who were given parking fines for using a car park of a pub near the hospital where they worked will now have their penalties cancelled.

The staff from Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield were told they could park at the Francis Newton pub, a Wetherspoon's closed amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

Many later received parking fines - some for hundreds of pounds - issued by a private company.

JD Wetherspoon said any fines sent out would now be cancelled.

Well done on finding out the identity of the company, I tied on various sites and there were just vague references to a private company.

Yes we can expect more of this, Parking Eye will be sending out invoices for overstays in Aldi soon, as people were taking longer than the 90 minutes they allow, during the last couple of weeks, and now where they queue outside and can be over the limit in some stores even before they get in to shop.

 

Euro Car parks might well try it on with them in a couple of years after the fuss has died down if they keep the details of the keepers which would likely be an egregious breach of GDPR if they did.

 

They will kill their own pigs  as the Government and Politico's of all parties won't take kindly to PPCs fleecing NHS staff.
