Just to update. I had to try 6 times to get on the call waiting list, got cut off about 6 times as they couldnt take any more calls. Got through on lucky number 7, a free call with a 30 minute wait and I got through, impressed to be honest. All done and sorted within a few minutes. Statement up confirmed that the payment will go in tomorrow. Have had some rude operators in the past but by and large most of them are lovely people and so apologetic today even though we all know the current situation is not their fault. I thanked them for being there. Mum is coming down now from her high anxiety, I am going to get the spare armchair into the garden for her, and sit with her there for a while.
Well it wont improve your credit score as it will still show as partially settled and will remain there until it reaches its 6th anniversary.
Also any offer like the above should contain the words " In Full and Final settlement " to make it water tight. We have seen these offers before and the balance sold again and chased by a further DCA.
Interesting, but it presupposes the UK is still in the EU, it isn't it is in a transition, having actually left under the Article 50 process; but if the UK decided to stay in, it might need an Article 49 Rejoin application, it couldn't just cancel Brexit, more debate there ad nauseum probably. Either way its a mess in UK and EU.
Was a 1200 quid Barclaycard CC - been paid back through a DMP with Stepchange, amount owed is under a grand and then i got the email when requested settlement, to me they have put an offer in writing and i obliged?
