I have started my war of words with the big guns, and although I find all the legalities a wee bit disparaging, I feel confident that this site will help me to recover what is legally mine.

However, I was pondering over my legal position as regards to claiming my money back.

2 years ago, when I was knee deep in brown guppy poo (No job and letters piling through the door) I went to the good old CAB for advice. They were brilliant! The lady who took my case on sent some letters to them on my behalf and they agreed to stop interest on my account for a given amount of time. This saved me a considerable amount of money. I was wondering, if I put in a claim for the return of these bank charges to me, could the credit card companies then waive this 'good will gesture' and counter sue for the interest that they first waived for the amount of time applicable?

Help most appreciated

Jim
